When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials through our identity provider (Clerk). While using ZipWalk you may also provide property details, inspection data, photos, and notes.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Operate and maintain the ZipWalk service
- Authenticate your identity and manage your session
- Generate inspection reports you request
- Send transactional emails (invitations, role changes)
- Improve the product and fix bugs
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services:
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- Neon (PostgreSQL) — database hosting
- Cloudflare R2 — photo and file storage
- SMTP provider — transactional email delivery
- Sentry — error monitoring and performance tracking
Each provider processes data under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Inspection reports that have been shared via public links may remain accessible until those links are revoked.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
ZipWalk uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We also use browser local storage to enable offline support and remember your preferences. No third-party advertising cookies are used.
6. Shared Reports
When you share an inspection report via a link, the recipient can view the report contents including photos. You control whether the link is password-protected and can revoke access at any time. Shared links do not expose your account or organization details.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed credentials, and access controls. Photos are stored in private buckets with signed URLs that expire. Despite our efforts, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights
You may:
- Access and export your data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential processing
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
